The G7 summit opens in Évian today

G7 leaders are gathering in Évian, France, from June 15 to 17. Ukraine, the Middle East, trade, economic security, critical minerals and AI governance are expected to dominate the agenda. Protests have already taken place nearby. The summit reflects a difficult reality: the list of global problems continues to grow, while meaningful agreement among major powers becomes harder to achieve.
