China releases a five-year employment-first plan

China’s State Council released a five-year employment-first strategy, pledging to stabilize job-heavy sectors such as manufacturing, foreign trade and construction, expand services including eldercare, childcare, tourism and restaurants, and encourage human-machine collaboration and AI-driven new occupations to guard against large-scale unemployment.
