Norway will largely ban generative AI for elementary-school students

Norway said that from the new school year, students aged 6 to 13 should generally not use generative AI in school. Students aged 14 to 16 may use it cautiously under teacher supervision, while those aged 17 to 19 will be taught how to use AI properly. The country also plans to increase paper books and handwriting instruction and reduce overreliance on tablets in classrooms.
