AlphaFold co-creator John Jumper is leaving Google DeepMind for Anthropic

John Jumper, the 2024 Nobel chemistry laureate and co-creator of AlphaFold, announced that he is joining Anthropic after nearly nine years at Google DeepMind. AlphaFold has predicted more than 200 million protein structures and sharply shortened biological and medical research cycles. The move comes days after Gemini co-lead Noam Shazeer also left Google for OpenAI.
