The EU is preparing a law to make firms diversify critical supplies
The European Commission is preparing a new supply-chain diversification law that would require companies to reduce dependence on a single country for critical materials and products. EU leaders say companies are moving too slowly to reduce supply risk, while the bloc’s goods trade deficit with China is nearing 1 billion euros a day. Concentrated supplies of critical minerals and industrial components are increasingly treated as an economic security issue.
