After Bolivia declared a state of emergency, road blockades and shortages began to ease
After Bolivian lawmakers approved a state of emergency, the number of road blockades began to fall, though dozens of routes remained blocked. The protests had caused shortages of food, fuel and medicine. At the same time, a Bolivian air force plane on an assistance mission crashed, killing six people. The crisis shows signs of easing, but social order and basic supplies have not fully recovered.
