Israel and Lebanon signed a framework agreement that includes a process for disarming Hezbollah

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the Israel-Lebanon framework agreement would create a process to restore Lebanese sovereignty, disarm Hezbollah, and dismantle its infrastructure. It would also establish a U.S.-assisted Lebanese military coordination group. Israel said its forces would remain in a southern Lebanon security zone until Hezbollah is disarmed and no longer poses a threat.
