Armed attacks hit multiple areas of Mali, while the army said the situation was under control

Mali’s army said armed attackers struck at least five locations across the north, centre and south, targeting military posts and towns south of Bamako. The army said it repelled the attacks and controlled the situation, with some attacks linked to Tuareg-led groups. Reuters noted that Mali’s junta had promised to improve security, while instability across the Sahel continues to spread.
