Utah’s AI prescription-refill pilot allows residents to renew some prescriptions online through an AI chatbot called Doctronic. The program launched through a regulatory sandbox, with doctors currently reviewing orders, but it raises major questions about safety, accountability, drug interactions and whether AI should be allowed to perform tasks previously reserved for licensed clinicians.
