Israel approves funding for 34 new West Bank settlements

Israel’s security cabinet approved about 1.3 billion shekels for 34 new settlements in the occupied West Bank, with additional infrastructure and road funding planned. The United Nations, Palestinians and most governments consider the settlements illegal under international law and an obstacle to a two-state solution, a position disputed by Israel.
