25 technology groups initially back open-weight AI

An initial coalition of 25 companies and organizations, including Nvidia, Microsoft and Meta, urged U.S. policymakers to avoid premature restrictions on open-weight models, citing competition, cost, transparency and local deployment. More signatories were later added to the public page.
