US retail sales fell 0.6% month over month in July

The Census Bureau estimates July retail and food-service sales at $763.6 billion, down 0.6% from June but up 5.0% year over year; solo operators should shorten replenishment cycles, separate traffic from conversion and set inventory exit lines.
