Anthropic previewed the Model Hardware Standard, a common interface for AI agents to control microscopes, robotic arms and lab equipment

The proposed open standard aims to let models discover and operate hardware through structured descriptions instead of bespoke connectors for every device. A common interface can reduce automation cost while widening the blast radius of mistakes, so deployments need least privilege, simulation, human confirmation and rollback logs.
