NASA imagery captured three Pacific tropical cyclones at once, with Lowell briefly reaching Category 5 strength

DSCOVR captured Lowell, Karina and Marie spinning simultaneously in the Pacific. By September 3, the Northeast Pacific had produced 15 named storms and six hurricanes, well above normal for the date. Ports, fisheries, tourism and cross-border logistics should test routes, inventory, power and communications against concurrent storms.
