Users in Yemen tried to use Claude to develop advanced weapons

Anthropic disclosed that users in northern Yemen tried to use Claude to develop advanced missiles and returned for help after a failed guided-rocket test. The accounts were blocked and no operational device was fielded, but the case shows that high-risk capability detection, account-level signals and human escalation must work together.
