Anthropic calls for a buffer so AI safety can catch up

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said that if slowing capability growth bought one or two additional years and that time went into alignment, the risk of a serious failure could fall substantially. He also called for stronger checks and coordination across industry and governments.
