One in three gender-equality institutions lost power in two years

The UN Gender Snapshot 2026 draws on more than 100 data sources and says one in three gender-equality institutions lost power over two years. Women hold only 6% of corporate CEO positions globally and lead fewer than 20% of the highest courts. The report calls for restored institutional capacity and equal participation in economic and public decisions.
