Four organizations launch a global avian-influenza action framework
WHO, FAO, WOAH and the Convention on Migratory Species say highly pathogenic avian influenza has spread across continents, become established in wild birds and affected more mammals, poultry production and related economies. The 26-page framework centers on prevention, early detection, rapid response, risk assessment, communication, surveillance and data sharing, aiming to reduce duplication and support country-led cross-sector action.
