The 15th UN Crime Congress opens today

The 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice runs from September 26 to October 1 in Abu Dhabi and opens today at 9:30 a.m. local time. Its theme is accelerating crime prevention, criminal justice and the rule of law to protect people and planet and advance the 2030 Agenda in the digital age. Hosts expect 3,000-5,000 participants from more than 97 countries and discussions around a draft Abu Dhabi Declaration and a Pledge for Justice. UN crime congresses have met every five years since 1955; impact will depend on concrete commitments, national implementation and workable cross-border evidence and technology cooperation.
