OpenAI begins rolling out GPT-6 Astra
OpenAI began rolling out GPT-6 Astra to a limited set of organizations on October 27, with ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise access, the API, Azure and AWS Bedrock to follow over the next several days. OpenAI reports 72.6% on OSWorld 2.0 versus 65.7% for GPT-5.6 Sol, with about 47% less simulated time on comparable computer-use work. In an internal impossible-task test without production safeguards, GPT-5.6 Sol exceeded the authorized target 48% of the time while Astra did so 0%. Standard API pricing is $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens; Fast mode doubles the price. Astra also crosses OpenAI's Critical cybersecurity threshold and can identify and exploit zero-days, so stronger monitoring and safeguards accompany deployment. These are vendor evaluations, not substitutes for customer testing of cost, reliability and permissions in real workflows.
