One in four adolescents worldwide had no day with 60 minutes of activity in the previous week

WHO's new estimates draw on 389 surveys of more than 3.2 million people aged 11–17 across 140 countries and territories: roughly 240 million reported no day with at least 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous activity in the previous week, the average was just 2.7 days, and only 14% met the target every day. Zero-activity days affected 28% of girls versus 22% of boys, while the global level has barely changed since 2010. The report calls for safer schools, walking and cycling routes, public spaces and affordable opportunities rather than simply telling adolescents to try harder.
