Volkswagen Group expands Copilot to more than 330,000 employees

Microsoft said on October 21 that Volkswagen Group has equipped more than 330,000 employees with Microsoft Copilot. A phased rollout began with broad access to Copilot Chat, which reached more than 300,000 monthly active users. Employees now use Copilot with Work IQ across knowledge processes spanning engineering, production, procurement and sales, while more than 26,000 agents were active across the Group in the past month. The companies also plan to expand Volkswagen's Intelligent Data Foundation on Microsoft Fabric so trusted data is easier to find, understand and use. The release establishes reach and activity, but not seat cost, hours saved, decision quality, error rates or return on investment; value still depends on auditable workflow outcomes and permission governance.
