Volkswagen Group expands Copilot to more than 330,000 employees

Microsoft said on October 21 that Volkswagen Group has equipped more than 330,000 employees with Microsoft Copilot. A phased rollout began with broad access to Copilot Chat, which reached more than 300,000 monthly active users. Employees now use Copilot with Work IQ across knowledge processes spanning engineering, production, procurement and sales, while more than 26,000 agents were active across the Group in the past month. The companies also plan to expand Volkswagen's Intelligent Data Foundation on Microsoft Fabric so trusted data is easier to find, understand and use. The release establishes reach and activity, but not seat cost, hours saved, decision quality, error rates or return on investment; value still depends on auditable workflow outcomes and permission governance.

A solo automated proxy service reaches $12,905 verified MRR

An anonymous Europe-based proxy service listed on TrustMRR is run by one founder and sells residential, ISP and 4G/5G mobile-proxy subscriptions worldwide. Read-only Stripe data verifies $12,905 MRR, $23,794 in the last 30 days, $328,191 all-time revenue and 338 active subscriptions. The founder reports more than 8,000 registered users, over 200 active paying customers, net margin above 60% and about five hours of work per week. Two tier-one upstream providers supply capacity, while provisioning, payments, renewals, fraud detection, support and outreach are automated. Growth has largely come without systematic paid ads, SEO or partnerships. Upstream cost, IP quality, payment fraud, policy compliance, support and supplier concentration remain the main constraints.

Lista's AI resale toolkit reaches $1,036 verified MRR

Lista is an iPhone app for resellers and thrifters that creates a listing once and publishes it to eBay, Mercari, Poshmark, Depop and Grailed. AI turns a photo into titles, descriptions and tags, estimates chest, length and sleeve measurements, and provides background removal, ghost-mannequin imagery and virtual try-on. The product packages content creation and repeated form-filling into one mobile workflow. Read-only RevenueCat data verifies $1,036 MRR, $865 in the last 30 days, $22,296 all-time revenue and 113 active subscriptions. Starter costs $8.99 a month and Pro $19.99, with annual plans available; acquisition comes through content marketing, Instagram and TikTok. Marketplace policy changes, measurement accuracy, synthetic-image truthfulness, account risk, app-store fees and acquisition cost constrain the model.

Kupinatao reaches about $970,000 in monthly cross-border turnover

Kupinatao is a cross-border marketplace that connects Chinese products with consumers across the CIS. A provider case reports more than 800 million catalogue items, over 200,000 customers, 125 million monthly page views, about $970,000 in monthly turnover and a 70% returning-customer rate. The mechanism converts a huge Chinese supply catalogue into a locally searchable, comparable and purchasable multi-vendor market, using order management, inventory, pricing, review collection and search indexing to lift conversion and repeat buying. Acquisition comes from Google and Yandex search, long-tail product pages and returning customers, while delivery coordinates sourcing, payment, logistics and after-sales support. Turnover is not platform net revenue and traffic is not orders; currency, delivery time, counterfeits, quality control, returns, sanctions and payment compliance are the main risks. The figures come from the technology provider's case study.

The first global priority indicators for maternal and child heat risk launch

WHO, WMO, UNICEF and UNFPA launched the first priority indicators for extreme-heat health risks to pregnant women, newborns and children on October 21, aiming to help countries identify danger, prepare facilities and trigger action sooner. Existing studies associate heat exposure with 26% higher odds of preterm birth. Babies under one experienced 389% more heatwave days in 2024 than the 1986-2005 baseline, and an estimated 1.5 billion children face heatwaves that are more frequent, longer or more severe. The framework pairs temperature with preterm birth, stillbirth, low birthweight, pregnancy hypertension, child deaths, care visits and school absence. Indicators detect unusual signals rather than prove that one heat event caused an individual outcome; data quality, frontline recording and local thresholds still determine usefulness.

A touch-sensitive digital pixel fibre weaves a GUI into a sleeve

Research published in Nature on October 21 integrates addressable pixels, coaxial interconnection, touch localization and multimodal sensing into a digital pixel fibre, then weaves it into a sleeve with a 96-by-54-pixel, 8-bit-colour interface. The prototype runs a calculator, body-temperature sensing, image display, a compass, voice control and Bluetooth transfer. Video reaches 30 frames per second without audio and 25 with audio, with autorotation and brightness adjustment. The fibre keeps operating underwater while the textile remains flexible, breathable, washable and mechanically robust. It is still a research prototype: resolution, power, electronics packaging, volume manufacturing, repair and long-term wear safety are not yet ready for an everyday consumer garment.

A single positron is trapped for months and cooled to its lowest energy state

A Northwestern University team built a one-positron quantum cyclotron that slows positrons from radioactive decay, selects survivors and holds one particle in an electromagnetic trap for months before cooling it to its lowest energy state. The goal is to measure the positron's magnetic moment and compare it with the electron's. That property can be measured about 10,000 times more precisely for electrons and positrons than for protons and antiprotons, so a repeatable mismatch could point beyond the standard model and help explain why the Universe is overwhelmingly matter. The work published on October 21 establishes the platform; it does not yet report matter-antimatter asymmetry. Source efficiency, particle loss, systematic error and independent replication remain central to the precision test ahead.

The World Bank Group launches its first digital strategy

The World Bank Group launched its first digital strategy in Seoul on October 20, combining public- and private-sector capabilities around four priorities: expand connectivity, make devices and data affordable, strengthen digital services and skills, and build foundations for countries to benefit from AI. Over the next 10 to 15 years, about 1.2 billion young people will reach working age in developing economies while those economies are projected to create roughly 420 million jobs. The strategy puts digital capability into infrastructure and energy, agribusiness, health care, tourism and value-added manufacturing to help firms reach customers, raise productivity, access finance and lower public-service costs. Direction does not automatically create jobs; finance, network reliability, affordability, data governance, local skills, competition and whether small AI fits constrained settings determine results.

ABOUT US

The world is loud, busy, and very good at pulling us off course.

The next leap in AI, negotiations, rocket launches, and quiet decisions that may reshape the future: information arrives like a tide. The splash gets attention, while the changes that matter often move beneath the surface.

Every day at 07:00 Beijing time, Xiazi Says selects the 8 global stories that matter most and pairs them with 1 daily overview. We clarify the facts, explain what lies beneath them, and provide concise context, recommended reading, and bilingual posters made to save and share.

We bring everyday warmth to clear-eyed observations about business, human nature, and a changing world. No borrowed profundity, manufactured anxiety, engineered outrage, or rushed verdicts.

Xiazi looks beneath the surface. Doudoulong speaks plainly and occasionally lands a sharp punchline, always leaving room for complexity. Humorous, never slick. Sharp, never cruel. Optimistic, never cynical. Accessible, never shallow.

Interest opens the door. Balance sets the tone. Insight creates the value. We focus on visible human nature, sound reasoning, and ideas people can actually carry into life.

Xiazi Says: Bold talk, never blind talk.

The world moves like a tide. Do not let the noise carry you away. Eight important stories a day may be enough. Use the rest of your time to work, be with the people you love, step into the sun, and live well.
