Today's overview: eight stories, one changing world

WHAT HAPPENED

1. SpaceXAI launches Grok 4.7 at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens, improving long-horizon coding, self-checking and professional work. 2. Nagoya solo developer Yu Furuta's baseball game earned ¥12.9 million in 11 months, while a ¥100 retention ticket multiplied in-app purchase revenue tenfold. 3. Skild AI says it crossed $100 million in ARR ten months after its first commercial deployment, with more than 60 paying customers across manufacturing, logistics and inspection. 4. A WTO case says Animalhouse Fitness used delivered-duty-paid fulfillment and localized checkout to reach 45 economies and increase revenue by 25%. 5. The U.S. HHS launches agency-wide human-based research actions, investing more than $88 million and bringing organoids, robotics and AI into standardized experiments. 6. With over 95% counted, United Russia is projected to take 355 of 450 State Duma seats and further consolidate control of parliament. 7. The 2026 Planetary Health Check says seven of nine planetary boundaries are breached and pressure is still rising across all seven. 8. Perseverance data show rocks at the edge of Mars' Jezero Crater experienced at least three episodes of water activity, reshaping the area's early habitability story.

Grok 4.7 launches for long-horizon coding and knowledge work

WHAT HAPPENED

SpaceXAI says Grok 4.7 uses a larger base model and a longer reinforcement-learning run weighted toward tasks that take hours. It scores 46.3% on CursorBench 4.0 and 71.0% on DeepSWE at high effort. API pricing remains $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens, with availability in Cursor, Grok Build and third-party coding tools.

A solo baseball game earned ¥12.9M in its first 11 months

WHAT HAPPENED

Nagoya developer Yu Furuta built the high-school baseball management game Take Me to Koshien alone and acquired users through app-store search and word of mouth. A founder interview reported 48,000 downloads, about 3,000 daily active users and a 76% in-app purchase versus 24% advertising revenue mix; 5%-6% paid about ¥3,000 each. These are founder-reported 2018 gross figures before platform fees and labor, and current profitability is unconfirmed.

Skild AI crosses $100M ARR ten months after first commercial deployment

WHAT HAPPENED

Skild AI says its robotics foundation model now serves more than 60 paying customers across manufacturing, logistics, inspection, security, food preparation and data centers; roughly 90% of revenue comes from manipulation tasks and $50 million has been recognized in ten months. S1 learns a new task from one video demonstration, reducing task-by-task reprogramming. ARR, customer and revenue figures are company-reported, while hardware, integration and capital costs remain scaling constraints.

Animalhouse Fitness receives cross-border orders from 45 economies

WHAT HAPPENED

A WTO case says the fitness-products merchant used FlavorCloud to show duties, taxes, shipping and fees as one checkout price and connect orders to delivered-duty-paid fulfillment, increasing revenue by 25%. The profit mechanism is lower surprise and cart abandonment, then market and fulfillment decisions based on real orders. Carrier cost, duties, clearance reliability, returns and SKU data quality remain the main risks; net profit was not disclosed.

U.S. HHS accelerates the shift from animal testing to human-based research

WHAT HAPPENED

HHS announced more than 20 agency actions. NIH will invest over $88 million in human-based research infrastructure and offer more than $7 million in challenge awards, while a new lab integrates standardized human organoids, robotics, AI and advanced data. FDA issued a direct final rule replacing some animal-testing references with broader nonclinical language, creating a regulatory path for validated alternatives in safety and efficacy evaluation.

United Russia is projected to win 355 State Duma seats

WHAT HAPPENED

With more than 95% of ballots counted, Russia's Central Election Commission put United Russia at about 57.8% of the party-list vote and projected 355 of 450 seats. It was the first parliamentary election since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine and included voting in Russian-occupied Ukrainian territory. Canada and the EU rejected those results, while independent OSCE observers were not invited.

Seven of nine planetary boundaries are beyond the safe range

WHAT HAPPENED

The Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research published a 120-page annual assessment involving more than 60 scientists. It finds climate change, biosphere integrity, land systems, freshwater, biogeochemical flows, novel entities and ocean acidification beyond their boundaries, with all seven worsening. Stratospheric ozone and atmospheric aerosol loading remain globally within the safe range, though regional risks still matter.

The edge of Mars' Jezero Crater experienced at least three water episodes

WHAT HAPPENED

Perseverance used SuperCam to analyze more than 185 bedrock targets in the Margin Unit and found igneous rock where lake sediments had been expected. Carbon-dioxide-rich groundwater reacted first, ancient lake water likely followed, and a later heated-water event formed calcium sulfate and fluorite. Carbonate and silica can preserve environmental clues, but the findings are not evidence of life.

ABOUT US

The world is loud, busy, and very good at pulling us off course.

The next leap in AI, negotiations, rocket launches, and quiet decisions that may reshape the future: information arrives like a tide. The splash gets attention, while the changes that matter often move beneath the surface.

Every day at 07:00 Beijing time, Xiazi Says selects the 8 global stories that matter most and pairs them with 1 daily overview. We clarify the facts, explain what lies beneath them, and provide concise context, recommended reading, and bilingual posters made to save and share.

We bring everyday warmth to clear-eyed observations about business, human nature, and a changing world. No borrowed profundity, manufactured anxiety, engineered outrage, or rushed verdicts.

Xiazi looks beneath the surface. Doudoulong speaks plainly and occasionally lands a sharp punchline, always leaving room for complexity. Humorous, never slick. Sharp, never cruel. Optimistic, never cynical. Accessible, never shallow.

Interest opens the door. Balance sets the tone. Insight creates the value. We focus on visible human nature, sound reasoning, and ideas people can actually carry into life.

Xiazi Says: Bold talk, never blind talk.

The world moves like a tide. Do not let the noise carry you away. Eight important stories a day may be enough. Use the rest of your time to work, be with the people you love, step into the sun, and live well.
