Today's overview: eight stories, one changing world

WHAT HAPPENED

1. DeepSeek details DSec, an agent-sandbox platform that it says serves about three million sandboxes a day per production unit and supports more than 380,000 concurrent instances. 2. Photo AI's public revenue timeline records about $105,000 monthly revenue in March 2026 for the one-person, zero-employee business; its founder also reported about $80,000 monthly profit. 3. ParakeetAI's founder reported on September 23 that its real-time AI call assistant passed $1 million in monthly revenue and 1.5 million users within two years. 4. Impact Dog Crates reports 164% year-over-year global sales growth in six months as local-currency pricing and prepaid duties lifted cross-border conversion 77%. 5. International Day for Universal Access to Information focuses on information integrity in the digital age as its global conference opens in Sierra Leone today. 6. The UN General Assembly holds a high-level meeting today for the Durban Declaration's twenty-fifth anniversary, centered on concrete action against racism. 7. World Rabies Day 2026 uses the theme Stronger Together to connect dog vaccination, surveillance and timely post-exposure care. 8. ATLAS observes W-boson scattering producing two photons for the first time at 6.2 standard deviations, completing the observed electroweak vector-boson-scattering set.

DeepSeek details DSec for agent sandboxes at production scale

WHAT HAPPENED

A 31-page report posted September 19 describes DeepSeek Elastic Compute, or DSec, for agent training and evaluation across function-call, container, microVM and full-VM sandboxes, managed through one Python SDK with lifecycle, resource and network controls. The authors say one roughly 160-node production unit serves about three million sandboxes a day, while production supports more than 380,000 concurrent sandboxes and over 5,000 creations per second. On-demand image loading and composable layers avoid moving full images, while a reclamation mechanism cut time-integrated memory use 21.2% in evaluation. These are team-reported deployment and benchmark figures from an arXiv preprint, not independent replication. The broader signal is that agent scale now depends on security, scheduling and infrastructure economics as much as model quality.

Photo AI's one-person company reports $105K monthly revenue

WHAT HAPPENED

Pieter Levels operates Photo AI alone. Users train a personal AI model from five to fifteen selfies, then generate portraits, virtual try-ons, product photography, AI influencers and videos. A public revenue timeline records about $105,000 monthly revenue in March 2026; the founder also reported roughly $80,000 monthly profit, or about a 76% margin. The business still has one person, zero employees and a single server. Its distribution advantage was built over ten years in public rather than one viral launch, while the product kept expanding into photo packs, video and commerce content. GPU inference, training, storage, payments and founder time remain the main costs. Revenue and profit are founder-disclosed and timeline-curated rather than audited; a public November 2025 peak of $138,000 MRR also shows the number can move.

ParakeetAI reports more than $1M in monthly revenue after two years

WHAT HAPPENED

ParakeetAI is a real-time AI call assistant that listens during interviews, sales calls and meetings and generates answers instantly. In a September 23 Indie Hackers post, its founder reported more than $1 million in monthly revenue and 1.5 million users within two years; the first sale arrived in the first week after a weekend MVP. The small, bootstrapped team first focused on the high-anxiety, high-intent moment of a remote interview, then expanded into sales, meetings and presentations. It built an ongoing network of more than 100 creators using native demonstration videos; the founder says related content now receives about one billion organic views a month. Subscriptions drive revenue, while real-time transcription, inference, voice, infrastructure, support and creator partnerships are the main costs. Revenue, user and view figures are founder-disclosed and unaudited; profit and retention were not published.

Impact Dog Crates reports 164% global sales growth in six months

WHAT HAPPENED

US-based Impact Dog Crates sells secure aluminum dog crates to households, rescues and police K-9 units. A Shopify customer case says that six months after enabling Managed Markets, year-over-year global sales rose 164%, global conversion 77% and Canadian conversion 99%. The mechanism is not discount volume: overseas shoppers see local-currency prices, prepay duties at checkout and use better international carrier options, while traffic, first-order and repeat-purchase data guide advertising in Canada, Europe and Australia. The company also redesigned packaging to reduce fulfillment cost. Before the change, shipping to Europe could reach 50% of the customer's total cost, while duty errors, customs delays and service calls consumed margin. The vendor case does not disclose order bases, advertising payback, returns or market-level profit.

Access-to-information day focuses on integrity in the digital age

WHAT HAPPENED

The 2026 theme for the September 28 International Day for Universal Access to Information is 'Upholding Information Integrity in the Digital Age: The role of access to information in addressing information disorder.' The United Nations says access alone is insufficient in an overloaded information environment; proactive disclosure, credible data, media and information literacy and digital tools must work together to supply timely, reliable information. A global conference and the seventeenth International Conference of Information Commissioners run today through September 30 in Sierra Leone, hosted by UNESCO and the government. This confirms an agenda and meeting, not improved transparency. Follow-through should be measured through disclosure deadlines, machine-readable data, correction records, minority-language and disability access, and independent oversight.

The UN marks twenty-five years of the Durban Declaration today

WHAT HAPPENED

The United Nations General Assembly meets at headquarters in New York on September 28 to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, chaired by the President of the eighty-first session. Adopted in 2001, the framework addresses racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance. The meeting has a programme, concept note and final draft political declaration intended to review progress and call for action. Before the meeting concludes, those documents should not be treated as implemented domestic law or funded programs. Meaningful results require enforceable anti-discrimination rules, comparable data, education, remedies for victims, protection for migrants and minorities, and regular national reporting; political division and implementation capacity remain constraints.

World Rabies Day says we are Stronger Together

WHAT HAPPENED

World Rabies Day 2026 falls on September 28 with the theme 'Stronger Together.' WHO stresses that elimination cannot rely on one step: mass dog vaccination reduces transmission at the source; health services need timely wound washing, vaccination and risk-based immunoglobulin after exposure; surveillance and reporting locate threats; and governments, veterinarians, schools and communities sustain coverage. PAHO says dog-mediated human rabies cases in the Americas fell about 98%, from 300 in 1983 to 11 reported across 2025 and 2026 through July. Chile became the first South American country validated by WHO for eliminating dog-mediated human rabies in September 2026. An awareness day is not an endpoint; vaccine access, under-reporting and wildlife reservoirs remain material risks.

ATLAS first observes W-boson scattering into two photons

WHAT HAPPENED

The ATLAS Collaboration at CERN used the full 2015–2018 LHC Run-2 dataset to observe two W bosons scattering into two high-energy photons for the first time, accompanied by two widely separated jets. The target is extremely rare: the dominant strong-interaction background is roughly 1,000 times more common, and after selection only about one in six candidate events was expected to be signal. The result reaches 6.2 standard deviations, with a measured production rate of 13.8 ± 3.0 femtobarns, consistent with the Standard Model prediction of 17.1 ± 2.4. It completes the observed set of electroweak processes in which W or Z bosons scatter into combinations of W, Z and photons. No deviation was found, but the result provides a baseline for more precise High-Luminosity LHC tests.

ABOUT US

The world is loud, busy, and very good at pulling us off course.

The next leap in AI, negotiations, rocket launches, and quiet decisions that may reshape the future: information arrives like a tide. The splash gets attention, while the changes that matter often move beneath the surface.

Every day at 07:00 Beijing time, Xiazi Says selects the 8 global stories that matter most and pairs them with 1 daily overview. We clarify the facts, explain what lies beneath them, and provide concise context, recommended reading, and bilingual posters made to save and share.

We bring everyday warmth to clear-eyed observations about business, human nature, and a changing world. No borrowed profundity, manufactured anxiety, engineered outrage, or rushed verdicts.

Xiazi looks beneath the surface. Doudoulong speaks plainly and occasionally lands a sharp punchline, always leaving room for complexity. Humorous, never slick. Sharp, never cruel. Optimistic, never cynical. Accessible, never shallow.

Interest opens the door. Balance sets the tone. Insight creates the value. We focus on visible human nature, sound reasoning, and ideas people can actually carry into life.

Xiazi Says: Bold talk, never blind talk.

The world moves like a tide. Do not let the noise carry you away. Eight important stories a day may be enough. Use the rest of your time to work, be with the people you love, step into the sun, and live well.
